Walks in Tavira

walks-in-taviraThe Municipality has initiated a fantastic programme of walks through Tavira and other towns in the conselho which will take place throughout the year. They are intended for school groups and the general public and seem to follow quite an intricate theme:  My Google translator says “Heritage Walks the Earth” – well I’d like to meet Mr. Heritage, sounds like he’ll have quite a tale to tell! The last time I heard someone muttering about “walking the earth” was Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

Anyways the official title in Portuguese is “Passeios Patrimónios da Terra” which means something like Heritage Walks with a focus on the land and how it has been used by man over the ages. The first walk is scheduled for SUNDAY March 22nd 2009. An architect called Marta Santos will lead the walk and a bus will provide transportation to Cachopo where the tour will commence.

For more info give these guys a call: + 351 281 320 500 (ext. 324) However I would imagine that everything will naturally be in Portuguese.

    Hi Dianna,

Sorry I didn’t mean that to convey a negative connotation. It’s just natural because we live in Portugal, so naturally I would assume it’s in Portuguese. I didn’t want any English readers to get misled at all.
