There is an exhibition from Tuesday 27th January 2009 to Saturday. Now as far as my translation goes “Patrimónios do Mar” means treasures of the sea. I wonder whether this exhibition is a collection of photographs, paintings or sculptures? If you want more information you can call 281 320 500 ext. 324 (although they may or may not speak English).

Opening times for the exhibition are 10h00 to 12h30 and then 14h00 to 17h30 after lunch. I guess you would be pretty keen to know exactly where it is, wouldn’t you? Well its at the Palácio da Galeria/ Museu Municipal de Tavira. Now I assume this is inside the Camara Municipal (the town hall) which is situated right here.

From what I can gather there is a walk around the town today (Sunday 25th January)  under the guidance of Alberto Corvo (a geographer).

“From the discovery of an extraordinary letter on the coast of Tavira held by Sande de Vasconcelos and his collaborators at the end of the eighteenth century, the City Council proposes a journey through history and geography, as well as a challenge to the imagination… The initiative is free, will last about two and a half hours and a maximum of 17 participants.”

Every month, the Gallery of the Palace / Municipal Museum of Tavira together with experts from different areas, organize a walk in the city, or in the county, using as a starting point elements of the exhibition “Tavira: Heritage of the Sea.”
